My wife and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Work is progressing very nicely on book two of Harmonic Wars: Children of the Guardians (CoG). We are on target to complete publishing this spring. We will be revealing the cover for CoG very shortly, and it is AWESOME! The people at 3L Publishing have hit a home run on this one. You're going to love it for sure.
I'm using Scrivener to manage the project, and it is a far cry from the numerous Word Files that I used in the past. It was so easy to lose files, and version control was difficult. Now Scrivener makes it all very easy since the entire project is under one binder. I just save and close and all my research, my notes, my outlines, my cast of characters and glossary is all saved together. Backups are a breeze because I can export the entire manuscript to Word Docs and save to my backup hard drives. I learned early on in business writing to save often and make backup copies, and it has paid off time and time again.
Here is a chart that best describes what I have left to do and about the percentage of work I have done, and what I have left to complete. This is a big project, and not many people have a good understanding of what it take to complete a project this big. Currently, I have completed 738 pages for 235,9237 words. That is down from 822 pages and over 280,000 words on the original draft. Writing for creativity is different, and you don't want to do anything to curb that creativity. Now that I'm editing, I'm making the story flow better, and working on making sure it does not drag or lose my readers. There are many characters, plots and sub plots in this book. This is also true in life. People think, dream, plan, and scheme in real life, so I wanted my series to be realistic in that manner. All of this takes time. I would rather make a good product than to rush through and have a poorly written and grossly misunderstood book.
I'm using Grammarly to help edit CoG before I send it to 3L Publishing. I've discovered how valuable it is to all my writing, so I use it for my posts and other articles as well. Here is my year end report from Grammarly:
"You typed up a storm this year. Nice job!
Here’s a quick summary of your activity:
PRODUCTIVITY
1,119,691 words checked
ACCURACY
2,709 mistakes corrected
PREMIUM
1,209 advanced mistakes corrected
Wow, what a year you’ve had. Based on our calculations we see that you had 1,119,691 words checked with Grammarly this year. Good job!
That’s not all. You made 2,709 corrections. That’s a rate of only 0.13% mistakes per words written. Good stuff indeed. Oh, and by the way, 1,209 of these corrections were advanced (Premium) mistakes."
Over a million words? Some people might say that just means that I won't shut up and that I just talk too much. I have to say that my percent of mistakes per words written is much better than I thought it would be! All in all, I'm very pleased.
Harmonic Wars: Guardians of the Crystal Skulls is available through Amazon, Kindle, iBooks and Nook, but you can only get it for $5 off the regular price through 3LPublishing.flyingcart.com
Pyramids, Tesla, Ancient Aliens, SciFi, Science Fiction, Books, Independent Authors, Archeology, Stonehenge, Maya, Inca.
